My Radio Station

After successfully completing my primary and secondary research into existing radio stations, I have finally concluded what type of radio station I want to make and who the target audience will be.

Now, I am going to make my radio station which will target a specific audience around London. The station will include news stories, that are local, advertisements and jingles.

In order to help with this, I listened to London radio stations which I want mine to be similar to. I decided to listen to Capital FM, which is a well big radio station in London and comparing it to a low mainstream radio station for example Pirate FM in Cornwall. I listened to this station as it contains local news stories and this will give me a sense of idea for what my news stories will be like.

My target audience in terms of age is quite broad, running from 16 - 34 years of age and I would expect both men and women to listen to my station - this age range will be reflected in the type of music that would be played on my station and the types of adverts I will include and the types of news stories that will appear in my radio bulletin. I would describe the type of music I will be putting in my radio as pop music.
