Audience Research- Radio Station Websites

I decided that it may be a good idea to see if the websites of certain radio stations helped give me an understanding of who their target audience might be. I researched into home pages for Kiss FM, Eagle Radio and Capital FM.

                                                         Kiss FM homepage

Kiss's homepage is girlish and appeals to a majority of teenage girls and young adults. The type of radio being played is aimed at both genders and this is clear because none of the stories are aimed at  girls or boys. It's background is manily purple, many schedules shown, the radio presenters and current music. The music which is shown on the homepage being played is contemporary music by artists such as Zayn and Starley.

Eagle's homepage is more bright and appeals to mainly older adults. The type of radio being played is aimed at both genders and this is clear because none of the stories are stereotypical. It's borders are light pink and background grey, many adverts shown, and current news.

Capital's homepage is blueish and simple which appeals to an audience of teenagers to people in their mid 30's. It is aimed at both genders. It's filled with pictures and news stories on hot gossip and current music. The music which is shown on the homepage being played is contemporary music by artists such as Selena Gomez or Drake.

Having analysed audience from these websites I feel mine is closest to Capital because I want my station to appeal to both genders and the age range audience of 16-34 is very similar to Capital's audience.
