News Introduction

In my radio I need to include a news bulletin. Therefore, I am going to start analysing different types of news stories formats such as business news and sport news etc. For this, I will be looking at the news online, newspapers, TV news and radio news. I will see if there is a consistency of conventions being used.

I am going to start by analysing ten different national news stories, then followed by ten local news stories, which I have found online on the BBC News website. For these different articles, I will be exploring to see if they use news conventions such as Impact or Immediacy and the use of the 5W's.

Here, I will look at a number of different types of stories which are:

6) Disaster

8) Crime
9) Technology
10) Science
